Mother Hubbard & Co. Launches KickStarter Campaign The Walking Dictionary
A TV Game Show for Teens That Promotes Vocabulary Education, and Offers Teens a Chance to Win College Scholarships
Atlanta, GA, May 25, 2013 --(PR.com)-- In an effort to help local teens develop a strong command of the English language, a group of prominent professionals have proposed a game show to excite teens, 14 through 19, about learning and properly using a larger range of vocabulary. While a limited use of proper English may be acceptable in the teens current cultural society, a broad vocabulary will be beneficial as they shift into the business world. This show would challenge teens and their parents to engage in learning new words to use to express themselves in a variety of situations.
“The game is as simple as teens pronouncing and defining words; words that will prepare them for college and empower them in their everyday conversations. Parents can play alongside their kids at home to see if their vocabulary is better or if they need a Parent's Vocabulary Refresher Course,” said Ms. Hubbard, creator of the show. “Contestants who do well will have the opportunity to try for college scholarships. Accolades from this show will also look good on any college or scholarship application.”
Mother Hubbard & Co. recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the creation of this project. With just over 30 days to raise the funds, individuals are asked to pledge as little as $1 to this campaign and also spread the word about this project through Facebook and Twitter. Donations will be tax-deductable and supporters credit cards will never be charged if the pledge goal is not met. “This is an All or Nothing campaign.” Ms. Hubbard expressed.
Along with a warm-fuzzy feeling, supporters of the project will receive a gift for their donation based on the amount. Gifts include everything from T-shirts to tickets to see a production of the show.
“The children are our future. If we don’t invest in them who is left to invest in,” says Ms. Hubbard.
