Knoxville Retailer, Planet Xchange, to Open a New Kidʼs Planet Xchange Store
Local Knoxville clothing retailer, Planet Xchange, will be opening a unique concept store this summer. Using a walkthrough layout, Planet Xchange will be adding a Kid's store and expanding their Mens' and Womens' clothing business.
Knoxville, TN, May 25, 2013 --(PR.com)-- After celebrating 16+ years in business, Knoxvilleʼs original Buy-Sell-Trade clothing retailer, Planet Xchange, will be opening a Kidʼs Planet Xchange store. With the same Buy-Sell-Trade concept as the current business, the Kidʼs Planet Xchange looks to bring something unique to Knoxville.
Currently located in The Gallery Shopping Plaza at 7240 Kingston Pike, the new store will be next door to the recently opened Tomato Head, and will be nearly twice the size. Owner Beth Boline says, “What makes this store unique from any other retailer in Knoxville is the new locationʼs layout.” While the store will be under one roof, there will be two separate entrances and two sides. Shoppers can choose which side to enter and customers have the option to pass through an opening in the wall to cross between the adult or kidsʼ side of the store. This walkthrough feature allows those shopping on one side to have separate experiences while providing the convenience of shopping for the entire family in one location.
When asked what has inspired the new store, Boline states, “For almost two decades Planet Xchange has watched our customers literally grow up. There are people that shop here for themselves and now have children of their own. The objective of the new store is to provide the same service and shopping experience to their kids, as well.” She has also watched her daughterʼs reaction to certain retailers. Boline explains, “There is a certain vibe or environment that is comfortable to kids. The Kidʼs Planet Xchange store will mirror the clean and friendly, yet hip atmosphere, that it is provided for adults.”
Along with the new store there will also be a few new practices and policies. Customers will be able to drop items off and receive a text message when their trade is completed. Then they may choose to return for cash or trade credit. In addition, the number of items to trade, will not be limited to the current 25. Boline states that, “We have revisited some of our policies and are continuously striving to provide the best shopping experience possible. At the end of the day, we are here for our customers, not the other way around.”
In addition to the new store, Boline will be rolling out an updated Planet Xchange website, and she will heavily promote special offers via email and on social media sites like Facebook. While Boline maintains that the essence of the business, which is the cash for clothing concept, will remain unchanged, this new store will have an updated modern vibe. “It is time for us to hit the refresh button and elevate the shopping experience for our customers. I am excited to make Planet Xchange a place that continues to grow with our customerʼs needs,” says Boline.
Currently under construction, the new location hopes to have the Grand Opening during Tax Free weekend on Friday, August 2nd, 2013. The current location will begin buying kidʼs clothing starting the first week of June. To watch the progress of the new store, customers can visit the Planet Xchange website, and the official Planet Xchange Facebook page, which will have sneak peek photos of the new location and frequent progress reports.
