MTR Gaming Group Expands Its Entertainment Offerings
MTR Gaming Group, Inc. announced today the summer entertainment schedules for its three regional gaming properties; Mountaineer Casino, which has a long-standing tradition of live entertainment, Presque Isle Downs & Casino and the recently opened Scioto Downs.
Chester, WV, May 23, 2013 --(PR.com)-- MTR Gaming Group, Inc. (NasdaqGS: MNTG) announced today the summer entertainment schedules for its three regional gaming properties; Mountaineer Casino, which has a long-standing tradition of live entertainment, Presque Isle Downs & Casino and the recently opened Scioto Downs.
MTR signed renowned national and regional headline entertainers to perform this year including, among others; Multi-Platinum, Grammy Award winning country artist Travis Tritt, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Greg Allman and 5-time Grammy winner Wynonna Judd.
In addition to music, a live boxing event will be held at the Mountaineer Casino property this year. Promoters Roy Jones Jr. and TNT Promotions will be presenting “Live Championship Boxing” at “The Harv” theater July 13 at 7:30 p.m. This will be the fourth incarnation of “Live Championship Boxing” with the 8-time World Champion Jones Jr. in attendance. The last event was held April 3, when local favorite “The Pittsburgh Kid” Paul Spadafora (48-0-1) defeated seasoned pugilist Robert Frankel (32-12-1), to keep his dream of a title shot against undefeated welterweight World Champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr., alive.
"This promises to be a spectacular boxing event. Roy always produces a fight card that features competitive fighters and exciting bouts which make for a great show," said Joseph L. Billhimer, Jr., MTR Gaming Group Chief Operating Officer, of the upcoming fight ticket.
“Besides great boxing we‘ve also secured a wide variety of wonderful entertainment for this summer,” added Billhimer “And between MTR’s three properties folks will find several acts they will thoroughly enjoy.”
MTR officials believe that due to the quality of entertainment and close proximity of the casinos to each other, people will find it convenient and want to visit one, or all of the properties.
