Mid-Atlantic Industrial Services Installs New Epoxy Flooring for Turbines Manufacturer
Highland Park, NJ, May 26, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Leading independent flooring contractor serving clients across the North East States, Mid-Atlantic Industrial Services (MAIS) has just announced that the organization has successfully completed an epoxy flooring installation for Turbo Care Inc. Div. of Siemens. Turbo Care Inc. was searching for a flooring specialist to help complete the expansion of their 25-year-old building and chose MAIS because of the company’s exceptional ability within the epoxy flooring industry.
The Turbo Care Inc. facility in Rural Hall, NC was in the midst of a $55 million upgrade and so TurboCare Inc. required MAIS’s help in ensuring that the new floor installed supported a professional, highly functional environment for the company’s future operations in the long-term. The scope of MAIS’s work for TurboCare Inc. included the addition of 160,000sq. ft. of 1/4” trowelled epoxy topping, as well as the installation of 22,000sq. ft. of decorative quartz broadcast within the aisle ways of the facility.
One of the largest overall challenges for the team at MAIS in completing this project was the space within the chemical containment area. This area has over 9,000 sq. ft. of space and featured pits, trenches and floor drains that added to the complexity of the flooring solution design. To overcome the challenges involved in installing flooring within this area, the MAIS team used fiberglass mesh reinforcement, epoxy novolac resin in each of the pits and the trenches and then completed the installation of a seamless monolithic surface from the top of the curbing to the floor drains. This chemistry provided TurboCare with a safe, yet practical solution that will support their scalable operations for future organizational growth.
MAIS was able to capitalize on their full array of in-house expertise during this project by employing there contract manager and field supervisors on site to ensure the on time schedule completion of operational objectives on a day-to-day basis. In addition, MAIS’s in-house team worked directly alongside the TurboCare’s engineering and procurement specialists to ensure that costs were kept within their allocated project budget.
The success of this project highlights the fact that MAIS is the leading specialist for all complex industrial flooring installation applications.
