International Basketball and Akron Wingfoots Point Guard Steve Hodge Named Head Coach. The NABL team, comprised of recent college stars seeking an international pro career, begins June 7 in Los Angeles. All NABL games will be televised by Combined Artists
Oxnard, CA, May 27, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Combined Artists Studios has pacted with the NABL to televise all NABL games for the 2013-2014 season. This begins with the Oxnard Sugar Beatz playing an English military team in Los Angeles on January 7 to start their season.
Steve Hodge, the Johnson and Wales point guard, has parlayed a ten year pro career overseas and with the Akron Wingfoots into the head coaching job with the Oxnard (California) Sugar Beatz Mens Basketball Club. The Sugar Beatz play in the National Alliance Basketball League (NABL), an amateur mens league that was founded in 1918. More than 50 NABL players have found professional playing spots overseas after their NABL tenure.
The Oxnard Sugar Beatz, representing Oxnard, California, begin their 2013 season in Los Angeles against a Military Team from the UK. NABL teams play college teams, International Teams, Military teams, and other major mens clubs.
All NABL Games, including the Sugar Beatz, will be televised by Combined Artists Studios. The games will be streamed worldwide so that coaches from the hundreds of International pro teams around the world can scout the players.
Other teams in the NABL include the New York Freighters, Akron Wingfoots, Marathon Oilers, Kansas City Steers, Philadelphia Tapers, Boston Whirlwinds, Los Angeles Jets, San Francisco Saints, and the Hawaii Chiefs.
Steve Hodge played two years as the Akron Wingfoots point guard and was generally regarded as the best point guard on the Wingfoots since Larry Brown back in 1964, when Brown lead the Wingfoots to the NABL Championship and captained the 1964 USA Olympic Team.
The Oxnard Sugar Beatz are the newest team in the NABL and will play an ambitious, year around schedule in order to always have players available for call up to International teams around the world.
Combined Artists Studios will also offer the games for video download via Amazon, I Tunes, and other major digital platforms.
