Celebrity Chef and Award Winning Author Guest Speaker at Annual Scholarship

Philadelphia, PA, May 30, 2013 --(PR.com)-- This award is given to students of Italian American descent, where they are recognized for their Italian American achievements, contributions, history and culture. Each year, this national organization selects a successful female of Italian descent to give an opening speech. This year, Celebrity Chef and Gourmand World Cookbook Award Winning Author Maria Liberati of The Basic Art of Italian Cooking by Maria Liberati™, will be the speaker. Maria is not only the president of The Basic Art of Italian Cooking™ but is the executive editor of her award winning blog, with now over +100,000 subscribers.

Ms. Liberati promotes Italian culture, culinary arts and language through her award winning book series and blog, as well as various media appearances worldwide. She is considered an expert of Italian cuisine and culture. Her biggest accomplishment to date has been being elected to the Board of Directors of the New York Travel Writer’s Society and serves as a spokesperson. She has been selected for many awards such as Food and Wine Television Personality of the Year, Food and Wine Writer of the Year and Food and Wine Blogger of the Year.

This event will be held at the Philadelphia Quarter Country Club, 1975 Southampton Rd in Philadelphia, PA on Tuesday, June 4th. Cocktail hour will begin at 6PM; the dinner promptly starting at 7PM.
