Velorush Mobilizes for Real Heroes
Helping U.S. Armed Forces returning Veterans re-connect with their lives in America.
Fountain Hills, AZ, May 30, 2013 --(PR.com)-- On August 2nd, 2013 Velorush along with ride sponsors plus 5 men and women staff members, will begin a two week motorcycle ride bringing attention to the post-service needs of U.S. Military Veterans. “While serving our country these men and women defended our freedom – now we can contribute to help them re-connecting with theirs,” explains Ed Bergman, Velorush’s Founder and CEO.
Embarking from the world famous Harley-Davidson Factory located in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, the motorcycle team will cross through America’s heartland ending the journey two weeks later in Scottsdale, Arizona. One of the first stops is in Oshkosh, Wisconsin for the final day of 2013 AirVenture Oshkosh Aviation Celebration. From there it’s on the “The Brickyard”, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is one of the next stops as the team follows a route through Indiana.
Leaving the Hoosier State, the Velorush riders will follow a scenic route into Louisville, Kentucky and then on to the Knoxville Dragstrip in Maynardville, Tennessee. Leaving the foothills in Tennessee, the group motors straight into Charleston, South Carolina where local skippers will be concluding the Summer Series II Race 6.
After leaving the East Coast, the Velorush team will head into Chattanooga, Tennessee and stop by the Sports Car Club of America. The next leg of the trip is more and 800 miles long and ends with a stop at McPherson College in Kansas.
After McPherson, Kansas, the team stops in for a visit to the Oklahoma Motorsports Complex in Norman, Oklahoma. 560 more miles down the road, the group will roll into SouthWest Motorsports of Albuquerque, New Mexico. A few stops further on down the highway, the group ends their journey at Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale, Arizona. The Velorush mission is to visit some of America’s most important motorsports centers, key locations for car and motorcycle racing as well as airplane and boat centric venues. The goal is to showcase for veterans some of the many outlets available to them in motorsports. While doing so, the group will work to raise public awareness and help open doors to assist veterans with their re-adjustment process.“We are looking to help provide veterans with some of the means to discover, join, and ultimately excel in a new arena” says Paul Balsamo, Velorush’s President.
During the trip the team expects to be joined by local, national and international media as well as receive support from veteran’s organizations and local motorsport enthusiasts.
Velorush understands that veterans deserve the nation’s support and a subsequent publishing of the completed documentary film of this journey will guarantee veterans that additional exposure. By bringing attention to the veteran community and their immediate issues, Velorush is helping to provide an enhanced path for veterans to re-insert themselves into a normal, active and fulfilling life.
Bergman suggests checking in with the local veteran organizations, as well as the Velorush Facebook page and website for updates on the scheduled date and time they will be passing through each city area. The Velorush volunteer staff looks forward to meeting all participants and spectators during “A Ride for Real Heroes”.
