Area Student to Participate in Important Leadership Summit at Harvard University-Chavez Malik Luckett, an 8th Grade Student at Garrison School for Performing Arts Chosen

Savannah, GA, May 29, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Chavez Malik Luckett, an 8th grade student at Garrison School for Performing Arts, will travel to participate in the People to People Leadership Ambassador's Summit: Leadership in Action at Harvard University Boston, MA on July 21-27, 2013, along with fellow select students from around the country. Chavez was nominated by educators who believe that his overall aptitude for academic achievement, ability to take initiative, make decisions that can effect positive change, and continued growth and progress within his grade level make him a great candidate for this program. Chavez will spend a week on Harvard University Campus living in the dorms, taking leadership courses, and helping out in the local community.

During the program, Chavez will have the opportunity to learn about effective leadership, learn to develop his own leadership abilities, as well as how to apply those skills upon returning home. Hands-on activities, relevant professional speakers, small-group workshops, and visits to significant local venues will be used to help him form a new perspective on the importance of good leadership.
