Local Real Estate Entrepreneurs Provide Alternative Strategy for Quick Home Sale

"If the only people who can get a loan have near-perfect credit and are putting down 25 percent, you’re leaving out of the market an entire population of creditworthy folks, which constrains demand and slows the recovery,” said Jim Parrot, former senior advisor on housing for the White House National Economic Council.

Barb Carten McMahon, a former Special Education teacher has a longtime interest in real estate. "On Sundays I would grab the newspaper and immediately turn to the real estate section. I got so good at knowing the market that I could correctly price a home in my neighborhood within a few thousand dollars."

Bill, too, has had a long time interest in real estate. "It must be in the genes," said Bill. ”My brother and sister are both realtors and even my step-mother was licensed at one time. When I got laid off Barb and I discussed the possibility of becoming full-time real estate investors. It just seemed like the natural thing to do. We attended several seminars, and intensive RE investor school, studied different books and programs and most importantly, got a mentor.
