Helms a Finalist in Business Leadership Awards Competition; Pegasus TransTech CEO Honored by Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce

Tampa, FL, May 31, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Bob Helms, chairman and CEO of Pegasus TransTech, has been named a finalist for the 2013 Outstanding Business Leader of the Year Award presented by the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce.

Pegasus TransTech, which earned Small Business of the Year honors from the Chamber in 2012, provides software and scanning solutions that help companies go paperless to reduce costs, improve operating efficiency, and speed cash flow. Helms has led the technology company as both chairman of the board of directors and CEO since 2001.

Established in 1998, Pegasus TransTech had yet to turn a profit when Helms took charge of operations. Seven new products have been introduced during his tenure, causing Pegasus TransTech to be recognized as the leading provider of document scanning solutions to the transportation industry.

Among other innovations, Helms led the Pegasus TransTech team to develop and implement truck stop scanning, electronic document delivery for trucking companies. TRANSFLO Express accelerated the speed of business across an entire industry.

TRANSFLO Express truck stop scanning, the company's branded service, was launched in 2002. First to market, TRANSFLO Express quickly became the industry leader, a position it maintains today. Under Helms' leadership, Pegasus TransTech turned profitable in 2005 and has had 33 consecutive quarters of profitability since.

In addition to leading Pegasus TransTech, Helms is active in Tampa Bay community organizations including serving as president and a member of the board of directors of Toymakers of East Lake. He is also a member of the CEO Council of Tampa Bay and serves on the board of directors of Pario Solutions Inc. Helms is on the executive committee of the American Trucking Associations Allied Committee for the Trucking Industry (ACT 1) and a member of the Truckload Carriers Association.

This year's award winners will be announced on September 20 at the Chamber's 33rd annual Small Business of the Year Awards banquet.
