Freggies and Northwest Center Give Back to the Community and Help Burien Residents Find Jobs

One of the beneficiaries of Northwest Center’s job placement program is Klariyssa, who found a job at Freggies, a local organic fruits and vegetable delivery company. She works at Freggies five hours a week and is an integral part of their workforce. She is so energetic and alert that some of her coworkers have endearingly nicknamed her the “Chief Energy Officer.” Klariyssa loves interacting with her co-workers and is great at what she does.

“A few months ago,” states one Freggies staff member, “Melanie Cates, a Northwest Center job coach approached us regarding job opportunities. We needed some help in distribution, since we are experiencing increased volume due to our “Burien Only” offer. Klariyssa was amazing; we hired her right away.”

The “Burien Only” offer that has created quite a buzz among Burien residents is Freggies’ way of giving back to the community. Jerrod Sessler, the founder of the company, not only grew up in Burien but also resides here and is raising a family here.
