St. Louis, MO, May 31, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Award winning, St. Louis based Internet strategy, design and development firm, SteadyRain is pleased to continue their partnership with the Missouri Parks and Recreation Association and the Missouri Trail Alliance in the web development for a unique trail resource, VisitMissouriTrails.com.

The developed DotNetNuke website will bring together trail information from across the state and provide Missourians and visitors to Missouri with one all-encompassing trail resource that they can use to access information about the thousands of miles of Missouri trails. The site will allow visitors to the site to search the state-wide database of Missouri trails, detailed maps of the those trails, information about trail features such as water fountains, scenic outlooks and, of course, restrooms.

The trail resource section of the website will launch in late summer 2013 as a result of the combined efforts of the Missouri Park and Recreation Association (MPRA) and partner organizations that have come together to form the Missouri Trail Alliance. Following the site’s launch, the MPRA and Missouri Trail Alliance will continue pursuing their shared vision of gathering all of the state’s trail data together and making it available to the public over the course of the coming years.

“The Missouri Trails Alliance chose SteadyRain to design our new web-based resources. We have been consistently impressed with the level of responsiveness during this process, which was tedious at times with so many stakeholders involved,” said Jan Neitzert, Missouri Park and Recreation Association Executive Director. “In addition to their technical expertise, we have also witnessed a true interest in our group’s objectives, resulting in high-quality products that reflect the passion of the Alliance.”

In April 2013, Missouri was awarded the distinction of “Best Trails State” by American Trails, the World’s largest online trails resource. The prestigious award recognizes trail states whose trail managers collaborate to provide innovative and successful trail sharing resources that allow more people to get out and enjoy their trails. Since receiving the award, the VisitMissouriTrails.com project has gained momentum and continues to be a priority for both private and public trail organizations.

“This venture has stemmed from several years of discussions and planning with folks in our CNTR Alliance,” said Thompson Knox, Executive Vice President of SteadyRain. “We’ve enjoyed developing a long-term strategy to help the MPRA and Missouri Trail Alliance provide valuable trail information to the public, and we are very excited that a first-phase launch will be happening sooner than anyone involved expected—later this summer!”

To prepare for the launch of this resource, SteadyRain has launched a promotional website at www.visitmissouritrails.com where Missouri trail enthusiasts can go to learn more about the project and sign up to follow the progress by email. Trail users are encouraged to visit the site and share it with their friends on social networks to get the word out about what promises to be a great resource for bikers, hikers, equestrians and outdoors people in Missouri.
