XPAND 3D Hosted 3D Workshop on Content Creation Huge Success at Cannes International Film Festival
Cannes Film Festival Official Technical Partner, hosted a dynamic workshop on 3D content creation at the "Festival de Cannes" on May 16.
Cannes, France, May 31, 2013 --(PR.com)-- XPAND 3D, Stereo MEDIA, and the International 3D Society joined forces to host a workshop entitled "3D Movie Making: From Script to Business.” The four-hour event in Cannes, on 16 May, brought together over 100 S-3D experts and enthusiasts from all over the world.
This innovative event was the Stereoscopic 3D highlight of Festival de Cannes 2013 following the screening of The Great Gatsby as the opening movie of the festival in 3D. The workshop took place on the American Pavilion, and the networking reception on its deck overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It was organized and sponsored in major part by 3D Stereo MEDIA (3DSM) and XPAND, with the help of I3DS, and with partial funding from Dolby and 21st Century 3D.
Jim Chabin, President of I3DS, told the attendees that this month and next summer were poised to become the best in the history of 3D ticket sales. Ten of the international speakers agreed that Stereoscopic 3D is mature, that its future looks extremely bright, and that this is the best time ever to be in Stereoscopic 3D.
This marked the fifth year that XPAND 3D has served as the 3D technical partner for the Cannes Film Festival.
