MUMC Places on Quality Honor Roll for Exceptional Patient Care

Savannah, GA, June 03, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) in Savannah was named to the Georgia Hospital Association’s (GHA) Partnership for Health and Accountability Core Measures Honor Roll. Memorial is one of 18 hospitals in Georgia to be placed in the Presidential category, one of the highest on the list. The honor roll is based on clinical data provided by the federal Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS) and collected between October 2011 and September 2012.

Hospitals are required to submit data to CMS that details how well they follow specific patient care measures. These measures are proven to be the most effective methods of treatment and result in the best outcomes. Hospitals must submit data for surgical patients and patients who have suffered heart attack, pneumonia, or heart failure.
