Houston, TX, June 01, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Remedial Construction Services, L.P., (RECON) a Houston, Texas-based leading provider of specialty environmental remediation and geotechnical services, today announced key changes to its senior executive team. With the upcoming retirement of the current Chief Operating Officer (COO), Rick Nieland, the executive leadership team has hired Jerry Mason to fulfill those duties.
RECON President and Chief Executive Officer, Steve Birdwell stated, “Rick made substantial improvements to our processes and his leadership will be greatly missed but his retirement is well deserved. We’ve carefully selected his replacement with someone who has similar drive and standard of excellence and are pleased Jerry has chosen to join our team.”
Mr. Mason brings to RECON more than 26 years of U.S. and international experience. His background includes 7 international engineering, procurement, and construction assignments, 3 of which were multi-billion dollar large capital projects. Mr. Mason’s knowledge of construction management, project controls, operations, business services, and business development, positions him to seamlessly integrate with the executive team at RECON and to facilitate strategic growth opportunities. Prior to his move to RECON, he was the Vice President of Operations at URS and his most recent responsibility was the oversight, management and integration of the URS acquisition of Flint Energy Services, Ltd.
Jerry Mason comments, “I couldn’t be more pleased to join RECON. The company’s core values of safety, integrity, innovation, and of providing value to our clients perfectly match my own. I look forward to contributing to RECON’s growth and continued success.”
Rick Nieland joined RECON in 2009 from CB&I where he began his career as a project manager, project engineer, and business development manager. His dedication to safety, excellence and “One Team”, along with over 32 years of experience in various aspects of project and operational management, played a key role in RECONs growth and expansion during those four years. Mr. Nieland says he intends to enjoy more time with his family and pursue personal hobbies.
