Academy for New Home Buyers: Guiding New Home Buyers to Home Ownership Without the Stress

Atlanta, GA, August 23, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Certified Professional Home Builder (CPHB) program and the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (HBA), are hosting free monthly classes to better educate and guide today’s first time new homebuyer through the entire process of buying or building a new home. The Academy for New Home Buyers will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 10:00am in conjunction with the Fall Atlanta Home Show held at the Cobb Galleria Centre.

“Many first-time new home buyers are unaware of the complexities of buying a new home,” says Cathy Santiago, CPHB Consumer Affairs Coordinator. “The Academy equips consumers with industry knowledge to understand the entire new home buying process.”

The Academy of New Home Buyers program is unique in that it breaks down the barriers to new home ownership in Atlanta by making the entire process as easy to understand as possible. Potential buyers will gain knowledge from industry leaders explaining the builder selection process, contracts and warranties, and the importance of shopping the market.

“Buying a new home is a very intimidating and stressful process that one doesn’t do on an everyday basis,” says Santiago. “However, our program gives the home buyer some background and education that will not only make it an easier process but also an enjoyable one.”

Santiago concludes, “We want all new home buyers to have a positive experience and this class helps them make the best possible decisions when buying and caring for their new home.”

Potential home buyers can attend these free monthly classes by calling the HBA at (678) 775-1471 to register. Additional dates for The Academy are October 13 and November 10 at the HBA in Tucker. Pre-registration is required for all attendees. All Academy attendees will be offered The HomeOwner Handbook, a step-by-step book that gives guidelines to care and maintain new homes, at a discounted rate. The HBA encourages all potential new home buyers to attend one of these classes to learn about the building process.

The Certified Professional Home Builder Program (CPHB) is a not-for-profit certification program with 300+ members that is dedicated to connecting consumers with builders who are dedicated to maintaining the highest level of professionalism, customer service and home owner satisfaction. The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (HBA) is a 4,100-member, not-for-profit trade association affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the Home Builders Association of Georgia (HBAG). As the largest local home builders association in the nation, the HBA is dedicated to promoting, protecting and preserving homeownership by maintaining the housing industry as a viable economic force in the Atlanta area.
