JobScout Kicks Off California Digital Literacy Workshop Tour
JobScout hits the road with the "Cup of Joe & a Job Search" Tour! Eager to get Californians back to work, the job skills platform embarks on a road trip across the state to bring the digital literacy and job hunting skills needed to find a job in today's online marketplace.
San Francisco, CA, June 06, 2013 --(PR.com)-- JobScout hits the road with its "Cup of Joe & a Job Search" Tour.
Eager to Get Californians Back to Work, Job Skills Platform JobScout Plans a Road Trip Across California to Get People Back to Work
It’s summertime and, for many, that means summer vacation. While many will hit the road to take a vacation, others, nearly 9 percent of Californians, are still looking for work. Since these Californians may not be able to hit the road, JobScout is coming to them, taking a road trip to visit libraries and community organizations across California to teach people how to use the JobScout platform.
JobScout, the web and mobile tool designed to teach people how to use the Internet effectively to find work, will hit the road during the month of June to reach as many California jobseekers as possible. Taking the helm at the wheel will be JobScout’s Paul Jackson, who is also leading the launch of JobScout’s Spanish language platform in September 2013.
“We’re passionate about finding users, which for us, translates to giving people meaningful tools to find work,” said Jackson. “The economy’s tough, so we hope our road trip will introduce a tool that can make finding a job a little easier.”
Jobseekers can find Paul and other members of the JobScout team at the following locations during June:
"A Cup of Joe & a Job Search" Tour
June 3, Redwood City Public Library, Fair Oaks Branch
June 4, Yolo County Library, Main Branch
June 6, Mission Economic Development Agency, San Francisco
June 10, Monterey County Library, Greenfield Branch
June 11, Women’s Building, San Francisco
June 12, San Diego County Library, Spring Valley Branch
June 13, Imperial County Library, Holtville Branch
June 15, Santa Ana Public Library, Main Branch
June 17, Los Angeles Public Library, R.L. Stevenson Branch
June 18, Los Angeles Public Library, Central Branch
June 19, Los Angeles County Office of Eductation
June 20, San Bernardino County Library, Main Branch
The JobScout team may launch more “tour” dates during the month of June, so interested users will be able to track Paul and get tour updates on JobScout’s Facebook page and by following the team on Twitter.
Whether you’re a Millennial and it’s your first time finding a job or you’re someone using the Internet to find a job online for the first time, JobScout has something for you.
