About Lois F. Ihnen
Ms. Ihnen retired from teaching in May, 1998 after 38 years of education experience. She taught third and fourth grade including all core curriculum. Ms. Ihnen taught for a year at Sioux Valley in Peterson, Iowa. After returning to college for a summer and one year, she taught at Ocheyedan, Iowa for three years. After receiving her B.A. in Elementary Education, Ms. Ihnen began teaching at Spirit Lake, Iowa until May 1998. During her career, she and a teaching associate had a store called “The Learning Locker.” On weekends she would travel to areas in Minnesota to display items at early childhood conferences and sold education items to early childhood teachers. Ms. Ihnen was also a Mary Kay Sales Consultant for 26 years. She is affiliated with Federated Women, First Lutheran Church, Milford, Iowa and the Red Hat Society. Ms. Ihnen was born on November 23, 1939 in Sibley, Iowa. She obtained her B.A. at Westmar College. Ms. Ihnen moved back to her hometown of Everly, Iowa in 2003. In her spare time she enjoys reading, crocheting, yoga, water aerobics and family activities, especially enjoying her nieces, nephews, 18 great nieces and nephews and 14 great-great nieces and nephews. Ms. Ihnen has also traveled to Alaska, Germany, Pennsylvania and Montana.
