Chef & restaurateur, Lisa Dahl has just opened her 3rd dining establishment in Sedona, AZ. Her latest vision is a hip pizza place called Pisa Lisa. Pisa Lisa also features an upscale gourmet deli and a bar stocked with local & imported beers & wines.
Sedona, AZ, June 05, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Lisa Dahl, chef and restaurateur, has once again shared her vision with Sedona, Arizona. This time it is a hip new pizza place called Pisa Lisa (http://pisalisa.com/), which is named in memory of Lisa's father, Herb Levinson, who playfully used to say "I want a piece of Lisa!"
As you enter the door, you are welcomed by a wood-fired forno. And this is where the magic begins. Last fall, Lisa took her two new chefs on a trip to California's wine country to learn the art of pizza dough making from renowned pizzaiole Andrea Mugnaini, of Mugnaini Wood Fired Ovens. The distinctive style of crust was the variety Lisa wanted as the canvas for her imaginative combinations. Lisa says, "I always wanted to try my hand at Napolitano style pizza, but it had to be uniquely my own."
"For all you Chicago sausage lovers be sure to try 'Da Herbie pizza'," says Dahl."
Pisa Lisa features an upscale gourmet deli stocked daily with freshly prepared antipasto salads. Lisa's line of signature sauces and vinaigrettes are conveniently available in refrigerated cases for Grab 'n' Go.
For those seeking the perfect epicurean gift there is a Mercado at the entrance featuring hard to find culinary items such as infused truffle oils and aged vinegars. Pisa Lisa t-shirts, cookbooks and aprons adorn the shelves.
Pisa Lisa's small bar is fully stocked offering locally brewed and imported beers. There is an awe-inspiring selection of wine emphasizing pairings with gourmet cheeses and charcuterie tapas plates that are sure to be the hit for happy hour. Espresso drinks are handcrafted to compliment the decadent pastries prepared by Lisa's expert pastry chefs, Stephen Zichichi and Michael Cohen. For a lively atmosphere, four flat screens have been installed for foodie and sports lover's entertainment.
Inspiration for the restaurant logo comes from a hand-painted little ceramic plate Lisa found while visiting Pisa, Italy. In collaboration with local graphic designer Tony DeLuz and sign maker Josh Lillis, the charming cherub depicted in the plate was brought to life on Pisa Lisa's iconic billboard that now welcomes patrons.
No doubt locals will do a double take upon entering this newly renovated old haunt that was originally a Pizza Hut. Multi-talented Sedona folk artist Annie Rhinehart, has personalized the décor with her whimsical shadowboxes. She used photos of Lisa and her family and other joyful images taken from Chef Dahl's Lisa's award-winning cookbook, "The Elixir of Life (http://shop.livingdahl.com/elixir-of-life-cookbook/)." The dark espresso walls make the perfect backdrop to Rhinehart's work, but the color was also chosen to reflect the bittersweet events in Lisa's life. Customers on their way to the bagno are treated to a hilarious blast from the past when they see what Lisa and Annie conjured up as a remake of the 2005 SAC calendar which features Hall of Fame-like local celebrities.
Located at 2245 West Highway 89A in West Sedona. "Dahl-ivery" service will be available soon. For take-out orders, call (928) 282-5472 or 282-LISA. Also visit Lisa's website, www.cheflisadahl.com for updates and daily specials.
Pisa Lisa enjoyed a soft opening on Tuesday, May 28th. The restaurant is now open from 11:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. daily. Upon leaving, Lisa reminds us of her mantra, "In Food we Trust" and says she hopes that thought will linger in the minds of all her patrons.
