Kureha Selects GreenWood, Inc. for Maintenance and Capital Project Services
Maintenance services expertise and depth of resource support lead to project award.
Greenville, SC, June 06, 2013 --(PR.com)-- GreenWood, Inc., an integrated operations, maintenance and construction solutions provider, was recently awarded a contract to provide Kureha PGA LLC with total maintenance services at their high performance polyglycolic acid polymer production facility. Capital project work will also be performed by GreenWood to support Kureha’s plant which currently occupies 3.5 acres on the DuPont site located in Belle, West Virginia. Kureha selected GreenWood because of the company’s maintenance services expertise and depth of their local infrastructure capable of supplying resources, supporting development and providing NCCER training needs. GreenWood is responsible for proactive maintenance services of production equipment involving reactors, vessels, piping, instrumentation and other assets critical to the production process.
"We have a unique capability of supporting Kureha beyond the team of maintenance and construction services personnel currently at their site,” says Eric Burnette, Director of Business Development and Marketing for GreenWood, Inc. “As Kureha continues to ramp up their production, GreenWood will be in a position to support their needs.”
At this location, Kureha produces a polymer marketed under the trade name Kuredex PGA with properties including high strength, biodegradability and low gas permeability. By co-locating on the DuPont Belle, West Virginia site, Kureha is able to obtain its primary feedstock, glycolic acid, from this facility – reported to be the world’s largest glycolic acid plant. Kureha PGA LLC is a subsidiary of Kureha America, Inc., the North American subsidiary of Kureha Corporation headquartered in Japan.
