Three Law Students Gain "On-the-Job Training" This Summer at Henderson Franklin

Fort Myers, FL, June 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A., is pleased to welcome three law students, Asa Brown, Shaun Cummings and Jason Lee. They will supplement their law school experience by working as clerks at the firm during the summer.

As part of Henderson Franklin's Summer Associate Program, these law students will have an opportunity to be exposed to a broad range of practice areas. Summer associates attend hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, arbitrations and meetings with clients, amongst other activities. Additionally, they perform research, assist in the drafting of pleadings, discovery and other documents, and analyze various legal issues that arise in the course of the matters handled by the firm and its attorneys. Each summer associate is paired with a Henderson Franklin attorney mentor who assists the summer associate with the transition from law student to lawyer.

Brown grew up in Spokane, Washington, and Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from Bishop Snyder High School in Jacksonville 2006. He is following his father’s footsteps to become a lawyer and graduate of Florida State University College of Law. Brown serves as a volunteer assistant coach for the FSU Men's Rugby Team, and is the Founder & President of the Wine Law Society at the FSU College of Law. Brown obtained his BA in English from Florida State University.

Cummings grew up in Ocala, Florida and is currently attending Stetson University College of Law. He obtained his BA in Political Science from the University of Florida, after graduating from Lake Weir High School in Ocala in 2000. Cummings is a member of Stetson's Mock Trial Team, is the ABA national liaison for the Criminal Justice Section - Prosecution Function Committee, Interior Vice-Justice of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and serves as Director of the 1L advocacy competitions at Stetson.

Lee is a Southwest Florida native and graduated from Cape Coral High School in 2001. He joined the Army and traveled to Arizona, Alaska, and was deployed to Afghanistan. Lee is currently attending Michigan State University College of Law where he also serves as the Notes Editor for the Law Review. He obtained his BA in History from the University of Central Florida.
