HF LearnSafety Firearms & Security Center Offers Tactical Pistol and Shotgun Training in Connecticut
Taught by CT Police Academy firearms instructor Herbert Furhman and retired police officer, this is a 3-hour intermediate to advanced competency course for those carrying a pistol outside or inside the home as well as the practical application of shotgun use for home defense. The HFLS Training Center is on the CT/NY Border.
New Milford, CT, June 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Advanced Self Defense Tactical Pistol/Shotgun Training is conducted for individuals and small groups at the HF LearnSafety Firearms & Security Officer Training Center in New Milford, CT.
Taught by law enforcement firearms instructor Herbert Furhman, a CT Police Academy firearms instructor and retired police officer, this is a 3-hour intermediate to advanced competency course for those carrying a pistol outside or inside the home as well as the practical application of shotgun use for home defense. Furhman also instructs a host of other certified courses from pistol permits for police qualification and security guard licensing.
In this tactical course, students are taught to incorporate speed, tactics and accuracy into their shooting. The live fire portion includes two hours of defensive gun fighting pistol training. Proper multiple stances from standing, kneeling, prone, sitting, single and two handed shooting is demonstrated and taught. The two hours of academic training and education include, defensive pistol history, attributes in firearms selection, understanding concepts including terminal velocity and yawing to wound ballistics and kinetic energy.
Fundamental and recertification Handcuffing/OC Spray and Police Baton training is conducted for security and police officers. Person Protection In The Home class, which focuses upon defense from home invasion, use of reasonable and deadly force, defensive encounter firearm instruction and a presentation on criminal liability, state and federal laws and castle doctrines is held for individuals and small groups. Training is presented by Connecticut Police Academy and NRA instructor Herb Furhman. Courses are all certificate issued and include live fire defense shooting drills in preparation to a violent home invasion or on the job encounter. Shotgun use will also be presented.
