Thompson & Knight Attorney Named Chairman of Advisory Council and Conference

Gordon Appleman on being named Chairman of The University of Texas (UT) College of Liberal Arts Foundation Advisory Council and Chairman of The University of Texas School of Law’s (UT Law) 55th Annual Taxation Conference.

Appleman will begin his position as UT College of Liberal Arts Foundation Advisory Council Chairman on September 1, 2007. He is a founding member of the Advisory Council, which supports the UT College of Liberal Arts in its mission to provide a good foundation in the humanities and social sciences to its students.

UT Law's renowned Taxation Conference will be held in Austin November 7-9 and will cover updates and planning techniques. The conference also features the 2007 Estate Planning Workshop, which will address recent developments affecting estate planning, current “insider IRS” topics, pre-mortem and post-mortem income tax issues, tax strategy patents, and federal tax valuation developments. Appleman is a Partner in the Tax Practice Group in Thompson & Knight’s Fort Worth office who focuses his practice on all aspects of taxation law.
