CHAMPS CMMS/EAM Upgrade a Smooth Process for Appvion, Inc.
Maintenance system delivers enhanced work management functionality.
Crystal River, FL, June 12, 2013 --(PR.com)-- CHAMPS Software, Inc., a leading provider of Computerized Maintenance Management (CMMS) and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solutions for over four decades, reports that long-time customer Appvion, Inc. (formerly Appleton Papers) has upgraded to CHAMPS version 11.0. The maintenance system has been successfully upgraded at three Appvion locations including the West Carrollton, Ohio, coating facility; the Appleton, Wisconsin, coating facility; and the Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, pulp and paper mill, and coating facility. With this version of CHAMPS in place, Appvion is gaining improved functionality for work order and materials management – specifically with the inventory management module.
“The upgrade process went well and CHAMPS was there to ensure our success,” says Dave Erich, IT Manager at Appvion. “They provided the initial guidance and framework we needed to get the project started, then remained available as we progressively migrated from site to site. In doing so, we leaned on them for administrative and user training.”
The upgrade is giving Appvion enhanced functionality that provides a smoother flow and better match for their work processes. Overall, approximately 150 users across the three sites access the maintenance system routinely to initiate work requests, generate work orders, capture completed work, perform preventive maintenance, and track spare parts usage.
“CHAMPS provides everything we need in a maintenance system,” Erich further stated. “As a company, CHAMPS is very customer focused and they are fully supportive of our needs. We value the relationship we have with them and are confident this recent upgrade will keep us current on the latest functionality available.”
Appvion creates product solutions through its development and use of coating formulations, coating applications and Encapsys® microencapsulation technology. The 106-year-old company produces thermal, carbonless and security papers and Encapsys products, and is 100 percent employee owned.
