Wyndham Forensic Group Expands DNA Testing Options for Canadian Police Agencies
Police investigators are now able to utilize their fee-for-service DNA testing as a complement to the RCMP Forensic Laboratory system.
Guelph, Canada, June 15, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Wyndham Forensic Group is pleased to announce that, beginning July 2, 2013, its accredited DNA testing services will be fully accessible by eligible police agencies across Canada.
President Valerie Blackmore highlighted the importance of participation in a recently established federal pilot program to the company’s service offering. “Police investigators will now be able to utilize our fee-for-service DNA testing as a complement to their public service provider, while at the same time continuing to enjoy the benefits of Canada’s National DNA Data Bank. The Data Bank has proven to be an invaluable investigative tool for linking and solving crimes since its implementation over a decade ago.”
Access to the Data Bank is restricted to federal and provincial forensic laboratories in Canada. Under the terms of the program, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police has agreed to review and upload eligible DNA profiles generated by Wyndham Forensic Group from casework originating from RCMP Forensic Laboratory client agencies. The program was established in accordance with the quality requirements set forth by the Standards Council of Canada following a technical assessment of the company’s laboratory by the RCMP’s Forensic Science and Identification Services branch.
