Free iOS App Captures Glitch Art Movement
Free iOS app embodying the glitch art movement hits the iOS App Store.
Los Angeles, CA, June 16, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Available today in the iTunes App Store, the iOS app GLTCH streamlines the creation of digital glitch art. Glitch art has gained popularity recently, sprouting a number of blogs and websites dedicated to the art form. Some artists have devoted their entire catalogues to glitch art, entirely creating works by corrupting their own digital art. GLTCH simplifies that process so even the inexperienced can experiment with the the popular movement.
GLTCH's distinguishing feature is its ability to handle animated GIFs which are incredibly popular on major social platforms. Users can search for and download GIFs to apply a variety of different glitches to. Those GIFs can then be easily shared across Facebook and Tumblr or simply saved to be sent through SMS and email.
Users can also glitch pictures already on their phone or that they take with their camera inside of the app. A different set of effects can be applied to static images, and they too can be easily shared across social networks.
"Glitch art is an interesting new art form because it intentionally distorts traditional images and has a devoted community that supports it. The problem is that most people have no idea how to do it - GLTCH fixes that by providing an intuitive one-click process for everyone," explains Jo Oskoui, the Creative Director behind the app.
GLTCH was created by Oskoui+Oskoui, Inc., a digital agency in Los Angeles.
