Radiological Physician Associates & The Fairmont General Hospital Uni-Directional Interface Completed
Fairmont, WV, June 19, 2013 --(PR.com)-- SkyRIS a premier Tele-Radiology Information System, which consolidates patient data from multiple facilities, has completed a uni-directional PACS interface for Fairmont General Hospital, located in Fairmont, West Virginia. Radiological Physician Associates (RPA) is the State of West Virginia’s largest private Radiology practice, provides professional diagnostic imaging services to Fairmont General Hospital and maintained oversight for this interface project. This interface allows Radiological Physician Associates (RPA XRAY) to create a new patient order in the SkyRIS™ system automatically, with minimal human intervention. The interface is designed to increase efficiencies and minimize patient report turnaround time. Once the order has been dictated by Radiologists from RPA XRAY in SkyRIS™ the results are forwarded to the AccelaRAD PACS system; then distributed to Fairmont General Hospital to complete the report cycle.
Fairmont General Hospital has successfully implemented the SkyRIS™ / AccelaRAD PACS solution for report generation and image viewing/storage. Approximately 450,000 prior reports were uploaded from the Meditech system into SkyRIS™ to increase efficiencies and reduce report search time for the radiologist. "Both ThinAir and AccelaRAD have the same attitude towards their business partners and work very well together," said Sam Merandi, Administrative Vice President of RPA.
ThinAir Data has been delivering radiology workflow solutions for over 17 years. RPA XRAY has been partnering with ThinAir Data Corp. since 2004. ThinAir Data Corp. has created the RPA workflow structure from the ground up to meet their customer’s needs. That workflow has evolved since its inception with countless modifications to increase end-user and radiologist efficiency. During its tenure in the marketplace, SkyRIS™ has grown in functionality, flexibility and has long represented the standard by which near-competitors are judged. The existing SkyRIS™ enhancements will include a new TeleRIS™ platform scheduled for delivery to Radiological Physician Associates (RPA XRAY), later this year.
Radiological Physician Associates (RPA XRAY) is comprised of 21 Board Certified Radiologists, providing professional diagnostic imaging services in north central West Virginia. Since 1968, Radiological Physician Associates have been providing quality services in a private practice setting. Currently, we service the Radiology Department for 12 hospitals, 11 outpatient clinics, and 4 private physician offices. They provide services in large tertiary facilities, as well as small rural hospitals and clinics. RPA XRAY utilizes a web-based cloud teleradiology network that assists radiology departments, medical centers, outpatient facilities, and hospitals throughout the State of West Virginia.
Radiological Physician Associates (RPA XRAY) relies on facility business partners to verify data integrity of patient orders. With SkyRIS™ the end user easily creates orders which are then prioritized into the radiologist's worklist. The multi-facility worklist streamlines the radiologist’s reading workflow. SkyRIS™ integration with AccelaRAD has been a quantum leap forward in RPA’s technology infrastructure.
