SpotOn Announces Winner of 150,000th Check-in Contest in San Diego
The contest reached its goal of 150K check-ins with $1,000 worth of prizes going to the winner and $1,500 donated to The Muscular Dystrophy Association of San Diego.
San Diego, CA, June 20, 2013 --(PR.com)-- SpotOn, the leading digital platform for customer loyalty and engagement, announced the winning user and location of its San Diego contest to reach its “150,000th check-in” at more than 300 merchant locations throughout the County. Starting with 120,000 check-ins, the contest officially began on May 1st and continued until the end of May when the 150,000th customer, Martha Torres of Oceanside, checked in at Froyo Love in Oceanside (3480 Marron Rd.).
SpotOn used its tablet-based incentive program to track check-ins at each San Diego merchant location. Torres, checking in using a SpotOn HotSpot tablet, will receive $1,000 in prizes from SpotOn merchants, such as Crust Pizzeria, SoCal Fit Body Boot Camp, Da Boyz Pizzeria, I love Bagels, Beach City Smoothies, Claudia Hair Designs, Sky Zone, Vega Caffé, Sky Zone, Flower Island and more.
“We had such a great response in participation for this contest and were thrilled to have reached over 150,000 check-ins in under a month,” said Brett Weiss, Southern California Regional Director. “SpotOn is giving customers rewards to their favorite spots on a daily basis, but this contest helped increased their awareness of the more than 300 participating local businesses around the county, where they can also receive rewards.”
Throughout the course of the contest, each SpotOn check-in at any San Diego merchant location warranted a 5-cent donation to The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) of San Diego for its programs and services. When reaching its goal in just under a month, SpotOn raised $1,500 to go directly to MDA San Diego.
“With such a strong reach in the benefits provided, MDA services the same families and individuals that are using SpotOn and visiting our merchants; we’re grateful to have found that synergy and kick-off this fundraising effort,” said Weiss.
SpotOn’s contribution to MDA San Diego will help support its comprehensive programs for families, including youth summer camps, medical equipment, clinics and support groups.
“This contest was such a unique opportunity for MDA San Diego to get involved with Spot, seeing as it mobilizes such a large quantity of businesses to get involved and raise awareness for our organization,” said Angel Chanchea, Executive Director of MDA San Diego.
To see start receiving rewards from SpotOn, individuals can sign up at any SpotOn merchant location via tablet or download the mobile app for Android or iPhone. Purchase is necessary to check-in using SpotOn.
