SWA Architects Moves Into New Downers Grove Location - Firm Announces June 22 Public Open House
Downers Grove, IL, June 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- SWA Architects has recently moved into new offices in Downers Grove at 911 Rogers Street. The announcement was made by firm President Bill Styczynski. SWA Architects will celebrate their relocation by hosting a come-as-you-are open house for current and past clients as well as residents of the local community on Saturday June 22 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
“Our motivation in moving closer to downtown Downers Grove was to have greater visibility than our previous Downers Grove location and also to better serve the needs of the immediate residential and commercial community,” said Bill Styczynski, President and architect at SWA Architects.
As part of its current relocation, the firm has updated their logo and simplified their name to SWA Architects. The firm was previously known as Styczynski Walker & Associates with offices in Willowbrook, Illinois until June 2009, when SWA relocated to their previous Downers Grove address.
SWA Architects has designed thousands of homes and over a hundred businesses during the past 33 years throughout the Chicago area including Downers Grove, Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, Oak Brook, LaGrange, Wheaton, Elmhurst and Naperville; to name a few. Notable projects designed by the firm include the Oak Brook residence for former White Sox first baseman Frank Thomas and Illinois’ first Emerald Certified Green Home in Wheaton.
In recent years, the firm has designed several Certified Green-Built homes in Wheaton, Elmhurst, and LaGrange. These homes officially received some of the highest honors with Gold and Emerald-level certification as part of the National Green Building Standard (NGBS). The firm is currently designing another green certified home in River Forest, which will use super-insulating building techniques in the ceilings, walls and foundation of the home.
In its new location, SWA Architects plans to host monthly “Ask the Architect” events on various related topics throughout the year on the second Saturday of the month. The first “Ask the Architect” will be on the subject of designing and building a Green home: “Thinking of a Building Green?” on Saturday July 13, 2013, 10:00-12:00. The presentation will be a casual conversation format with plenty of opportunities to ask the architects questions on the current monthly topic.
