Southampton, MA, June 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- North American Farmers' Direct Marketing Association (NAFDMA) announces their eighth annual Advanced Learning Retreat (ALR). The event at Tweite's Family Farm in Byron, Minnesota features casual sessions and a behind the scenes look at a successful agritourism farm. This ALR is designed to provide attendees with an opportunity to advance their business by brainstorming with like-minded peers in facilitated small group settings. It takes place on August 23-26, 2013. Attendees will spend less than four days away from home, including travel time for this exclusive event.

Tweite's Family Farm is celebrating their 25th year in the agritainment business. The farm includes a 22 acre theme park with dozens of individual attractions, games and activities that can be customized for use on any growing farm. There is also a 12 acre corn maze, food service, concessions and retail. There is plenty to learn from if adding a gate fee, farm theme park, confection foods, or agritainment venue is in the future of a farm operation.

Tom Tweite and his wife, Colleen are especially committed to supporting young families who are just getting rolling in the agritourism business. They are familiar with the challenges of running the business and tending to a family at the same time. Tom says, "We are always learning ourselves. By no means are we the largest or best entertainment farm, but we would like to demonstrate what we have learned over the last 25 years, from farm visits, children museum visits, to many conference and seminars, all across the country, some ideas have been small but effective while others have been huge and been financially rewarding."

In the spirit of family and as a celebration of family entrepreneurship, NAFDMA welcomes children to join in the 2013 Advanced Learning Retreat. Younger children can play at Tweite’s Family Farm during the event. Older children are invited to join in the programs. Childcare services will be arranged as necessary to keep the adult programming quiet and orderly.

Educational session topics include ticketing, employee development and HR, advertising, educational tours and entertainment and signage. All attendees will have the chance to participate in additional hands-on sessions and get answers to every question they have in the signature, "No Question Left Unanswered" session.
