Psychology Consultants Inc. to Promote Ohio Employment 2013
Medina, OH, June 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Psychology Consultants Inc. will air this weekend, Sunday June 23rd at 11:30 on Channel 3’s Golden Opportunities.
Psychology Consultants Inc. is expanding further into Northeast Ohio in 2013. For the second year in a row, Psychology Consultants announces its search for local Ohio Licensed Psychologists and Independent Licensed Social Workers.
Psychology Consultants Inc. is a family-owned Ohio business, which is economically healthy. PCI began in 1996 in one nursing home in Medina Ohio, with one dedicated psychologist, (Owner, Thomas McArthy, Ph.D.), who wanted to use his clinical skills to help the mental well being of the geriatric population in Ohio. Over the past 17 years this once small company has had continued annual growth and is currently under contract with 80 nursing homes in 15 counties in Northeast Ohio, while employing 36 employees.
Dr. Thomas McArthy adds, “I started Psychology Consultants Inc., out of the growing and apparent need for psychological services among the growing population of older adults, particularly those residing in long term care facilities. It was noted that many of these residents were without voice, many without living relatives and an overwhelmingly large number suffering from depression, anxiety disorders, and other mental health issues.”
The vision of PCI is to empower their staff to help the geriatric population live out their lives with the dignity and respect they deserve. The staff is consisting of Ph.D. Psychologists and Licensed Independent Social Workers is trained and experienced in the mental health needs of geriatric residents.
PCI’s goal in 2013 is again to benefit local Northeast Ohioans with sustainable employment work practices. Ohio has a rising age-population that is a major factor driving market growth. From March 2012 to May 2013 Psychology Consultants employed 19 new employees. With Psychology Consultants current annual growth rate, they anticipate hiring 20 more employees by Jan 2014.
Psychology Consultants Inc. was highlighted on July 14, 2012 in the Akron Beacon Journal for expanding services to address depression and other often overlooked mental health conditions among nursing home residents.

As also stated in the Akron Beacon Journal article of Psychology Consultants Inc. on July 14, 2012, accourding to the National Institute of Mental Health, depression is a widely under-recognized and under-treated medical illness among elderly Americians. Depression may increases with other illnesses and impairments. In 2012 the institute estimated as many as 11.5 percent of elderly hospitalized patients had depression. In response to loss, sadness and grief can cause a temporary down mood. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, “depressive disorder is not a normal part of ageing.” Psychology Consultants’ goal is to work with the ederly experiencing depression and help them create value and quality of life in their elder years.
According to data released on March 9, 2012, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that job growth in the healthcare sector was breaking records of the growth comprehended in 2011, accounting for one out of every 5 new jobs created this year. Hospitals, long-term care facilities, and other ambulatory care settings added 49,000 new jobs in February 2012, up from 43,300 new jobs created in January.
