Baxa Corporation Ranked by Inc. Magazine as One of the Fastest-Growing Private Companies in the US
Baxa Corporation is now ranked in the list of the top 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the US. The Inc. 5,000 list is an extension of the magazine’s annual 500 list, recognizing the many businesses that are too big to grow at the pace required to make the well-known Inc. 500 list.
Denver, CO, August 25, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Inc. has ranked Baxa Corporation on its first-ever Inc. 5,000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the country. Baxa ranked at 3,825 for three-year sales growth of nearly 70%. The company has grown steadily – posting greater than 20% year-on-year gains – since its founding in 1975. Currently, Baxa employs more than 400 associates through its Colorado headquarters and UK subsidiary offices.
The Inc. 5,000 list is an extension of Inc. magazine’s annual 500 list, intended to cover the many businesses that are too big to grow at the pace required to make the Inc. 500 list; as well as a host of smaller firms. According to the Inc. reviewers, these entrepreneurial companies represent the backbone of the US economy.
Expanding the Inc. list, according to Inc. 5,000 Project Manager Jim Melloan, “…allowed us to tell the stories of larger companies, older companies, and a wealth of companies in industries like Manufacturing and Construction that are underreported in the business media.” Notes Greg Baldwin, Baxa Chairman and CEO, “I am pleased that Inc. Magazine has created this venue to recognize more established private companies. Baxa is a company that was bootstrapped with very little investment capital by our founders back in 1975. We have defied the odds to achieve consistent, profitable growth over three decades. By taking a generational view, we have built Baxa organically through associate engagement, customer focus, and innovation. We are proud of the key role we play in medication preparation and delivery worldwide.”
Companies Inc. recognized reported median revenue of $9.4 million and median three-year growth of 140%. The list features a profile for each company, written as a result of Inc. interviews with management. The Baxa profile can be found at http://www.inc.com/inc5000/2007/company-profile.html?id=200738250.
The 2007 Inc. 5,000 list measured revenue growth from 2003 through 2006. To qualify, companies had to be U.S.-based and privately held, independent – not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies – as of December 31, 2006, and have had at least $200,000 in revenue in 2003, and $2 million in 2006.
