World's First Agony Uncle Joins Dating Advice Website as Advice Columnist
Doyen of Stage/Screen Now Appears on World's Best Relationship Stage
Driffield, United Kingdom, June 22, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The dating and relationship advice website Howdoidate.com announced today that PBS producer and author of “The Bohemian Love Diaries,” Slash Coleman will join the writing staff as both an advice columnist and the worlds first Agony Uncle. The Ask Uncle Slash advice column is scheduled to publish one reader question each week on the topics of: relationships, dating, general lifestyle issues and sexual matters. The unique column utilizes reader questions to allow Coleman to springboard into his highly personal and often times controversial past.
“We’re delighted to have Slash on board in the role of Agony Uncle,” says Derek Collinson, internet entrepreneur and creator of the dating and relationship website. “The image of the agony aunt (which was originally of an older woman dispensing comforting advice and maternal wisdom) has long been popular in the UK. But, when Coleman came to my attention through his Psychology Today blog, the role of the Agony Uncle seemed perfect. Let’s just say he’s uniquely qualified to prescribe his peculiar blend of literary potions to the souls of singles.”
Slash Coleman is the New York based author of “The Bohemian Love Diaries and a blogger for Psychology Today. Over the past decade, he has produced work on PBS, been a featured TEDTalks presenter, and appeared multiple times on NPR including the series, “How Artists Make Money.”
“My friends like to call me the dating anti-superhero,” Coleman says. “Sort of like Dr. Ruth with a cape made from a dirty pillow case. I’m an expert in matters of the heart, but mostly of the broken kind. My answers are a little forthright and tend to strike people as either charming or alarming.”
The Ask Uncle Slash advice column will begin running June 2013 on howdoidate.com. Singles with a strong disposition and a sense of humor can send their questions to Uncle Slash at www.howdoidate.com/ask-uncle-slash/. Identities are never revealed.
