Paws for Life Animal Rescue Showcases Adorable Cats During "9 Lives for 9 Dollars" Adoption Event
Animal rescues and shelters across the country will participate in the 9 Lives for $9 cat adoption campaign, June 21-30, 2013, supported by Best Friends Animal Society.
Detroit, MI, June 22, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Did you know there are more than nine reasons you might be healthier when sharing your life with cats, or that for $9 you can become part of a nationwide life-saving movement? Adopt a feline friend from Paws for Life Rescue, www.pawsforliferescue.org, during the special “9 Lives for $9” adoption event, running from June 21 to June 30, and you become part of something important.
To adopt a cat for just $9, apply online at www.pawsforliferescue.org between June 21 and June 30, and/or come meet the adoptable cats and adolescent kittens (age 9 months or older) rescued by Paws for Life on June 30 from noon to 4 p.m. at Petco, 4820 S. Baldwin Rd, Lake Orion/Auburn Hills. This event is part of the “9 Lives for $9” promotion from June 21 to June 30 across the United States, supported by national animal welfare organization Best Friends Animal Society.
“For 10 days in June we are making it so easy for people to meet our fabulous felines who are ready to go home with you. And for just $9, you can save a cat who could end up saving you**,” said Courtney Protz-Sanders, executive director and spokesperson for Paws for Life. “Every day, 9,000 animals are killed in shelters simply because they don’t have homes. Just by adopting a cat or two, everyone can be part of the nationwide movement to end the killing of adoptable, treatable animals.
“When you perform the lifesaving act of adopting cats, your life is better too,” added Protz-Sanders. “You are bringing purring balls of love into your home that can help you lower your risk of a heart attack, boost your immune system, reduce your blood pressure and a whole host of other health benefits, too. Plus, if laughter is the best medicine, cats can provide a daily dose with their antics or just snuggle up and let you know everything’s going to be okay.”
This adoption event is part of Best Friends Animal Society’s national mission of No More Homeless Pets®, which aims to end the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters. Paws for Life is a participating member of the No More Homeless Pets® Network, a program of Best Friends Animal Society that offers help and support to animal rescue groups that save lives in their communities.

About Paws for Life Rescue
Paws for Life Rescue (PFL) is a 501(c)3, tax-exempt, not-for-profit animal welfare organization run by a group of hard-working, dedicated volunteers. PFL is an Adoption Guarantee organization that rescues homeless, neglected, abused and abandoned dogs, cats, puppies and kittens from overflowing shelters. PFL does not believe that time or money are acceptable reasons to end a life. PFL uses a network of loving foster care homes where animals stay until their forever homes are found. PFL’s goal is to find the best homes possible for the homeless pets in our care. PFL operates under the philosophy of do no harm.
The organization focuses on humane legislation and education initiatives to permanently improve the lives, safety and future of companion animals in Michigan and surrounding areas. PFL has no paid staff and receives no government support. Every penny donated goes directly to the animals in our care, paying vet bills and purchasing needed supplies. In addition to rescue, PFL devotes resources to numerous local and national humane campaigns, such as End Dogfighting, Feral Cat TNR and Eliminating Puppy Mills, as well as participation in community and national Disaster Animal Response Teams.
Paws for Life’s mission is to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves; to rescue and rehome abandoned pets, matching animals and families to find the right fit for everyone and promising to exhaust all efforts to place adoptable pets in lifelong, loving homes; to promote humane education, spay/neuter initiatives and respect for all living things; to prevent and report cruelty to animals; to participate in disaster animal response; to improve the lives of animals and end the suffering created by puppy mills, animal fighters and backyard breeders; and to be a driving force, leader and champion for animal welfare in Michigan. www.pawsforliferescue.org
