Winners of Dr. Rana International Parkinson’s Community Service Award Announced
Toronto, Canada, June 23, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Every year the Central Executive Committee of World Parkinson's Program honors up to three outstanding individuals from all over the world who are committed to improving the quality of life of individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Tireless dedication and hard work of these individuals not only makes a difference in the quality of life of individuals with Parkinson’s disease but also helps caregivers to better cope with stress and ease the burden of taking care of their loved ones. By recognizing those individuals who inspire others, World Parkinson’s Program’s dedication for community service continues through the work of others.
Global Parkinson's and health care community members submit nominations for consideration of Dr. Rana International Parkinson’s Community Service Award. Organizations may nominate individuals who have consistently presented themselves as role models and leaders in Parkinson’s community. Following categories of individuals are eligible for this award,
Parkinson’s community health volunteers
Allied healthcare workers providing care to Parkinson’s patients
Physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, other healthcare practitioners, organizers, committee and board members who play a pivotal role in this cause going above and beyond the call of duty.
Nominations are submitted by electronically from February 1st to March 15 every year. Nominations are reviewed by an Award Selection Committee, and the results are announced in the monthly Bulletin of World Parkinson's Program.
