FastMed Urgent Care Keep Cooler Program Renewed for Third Season
Arizona Community Schools and Organizations Receive Free Water Cooler.
Gilbert, AZ, June 26, 2013 --(PR.com)-- FastMed Urgent Care has launched its third annual “Keep Cooler Program” for the 2013 summer sports season. FastMed donates five-gallon water coolers to any school (middle school, high school, college or university) or other organized sports teams in communities surrounding its 21 Arizona locations. The Keep Cooler Program supports healthy hydration among athletes in the communities FastMed serves, particularly during outside play in the hotter months, to help avoid heat-related illness and sports injuries.
“With FastMed’s third annual Keep Cooler Program, we remind parents and kids enjoying the outdoors to stay safe this summer,” said Michael P. Dunn, MD, President and Chief Medical Officer, Western Region. “Since we launched the Keep Cooler Program, we have seen over 170 organizations throughout our communities benefit from this education tool, designed to be a constant reminder of the dangers of heat illness and the importance of prevention.”
In 2011, when the Keep Cooler Program was launched, FastMed gave away 52 coolers to area schools and organizations. In 2012, that number ballooned to 100 communities receiving the 5-gallon cooler from FastMed including non-profits such as Boy Scouts of America, American Diabetes Association, YMCA and numerous 5K runs, walks and triathlons. Today over 170 FastMed 5-gallon coolers remind kids and adults to stay hydrated during hot summer months.
FastMed encourages athletic directors for local schools, or sports summer program leaders to contact FastMed for their organization’s eligibility to receive a free cooler by calling or emailing Ari Brooks at 480.545.2787 x1328 or a.brooks@fastmed.com.
