Fundraiser offers unique marketing opportunity for local businesses
Oxnard, CA, June 27, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Sponsorships are now available for Santa to the Sea’s upcoming half marathon and Finish Line Festival on Dec. 8. The event aims to support the community by raising scholarships and providing toys for needy children in the area. Sponsorships with Santa to the Sea give local businesses a cost-effective opportunity to enhance their brand image, promote good-will and build relationships with consumers.
Santa to the Sea draws nearly 3,500 registrants from throughout Southern California for the half marathon, two-person half marathon relay, 5K run and 1K kids run. “We’re fortunate to have such strong community participation in the race. With the neighborhood spirit contest, so many people come out to watch their friends and neighbors take part in the race,” said race founder and organizer Mike Barber. “And at the Finish Line Festival, we expect some 5,000 supporters there to experience the event and celebrate the runners as they cross the finish line.”
All races start at 8 a.m. The half marathon begins at the giant Santa located at 2801 Ventura Blvd., Oxnard, and ends at the Marine Emporium Landing in Channel Islands Harbor. What started in 2003 as a toy drive to celebrate the relocation of the world’s largest Santa Claus from Carpinteria to Oxnard, has grown into a robust running event, toy drive, and community fundraiser. Santa to the Sea includes a sanctioned half marathon and a 2-person half marathon relay, plus 5K run and 1K kids fun runs.
