GoldKey Security Kryptors Pass FIPS 140-2 Certification Testing
Independence, MO, June 27, 2013 --(PR.com)-- GoldKey Security Corporation announced the completion of the FIPS 140-2 certification testing requirements for GoldKey Security Kryptors. FIPS 140-2 testing is considered to be one of the most rigorous and stringent certification testing procedures in the industry. It is a mandated requirement by most U.S. Government agencies and is considered a major benchmark for use in the Enterprise. GoldKey USB Security Kryptors passed the required testing for FIPS Security Level 2 with Level 3 physical securities.
The Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) Publication 140-2 (FIPS 140-2), is a NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) standard that defines security requirements for cryptographic modules. A FIPS 140-2 validated module must be tested by an independent accredited lab to insure that the module meets the security requirements defined in the standard. The module must pass stringent testing related to the secure design and implementation of a cryptographic module, including cryptographic algorithm implementation, physical security, key management, and role authentication.
FIPS 140-2 validation is required for cryptographic modules that are used by Federal agencies of the United States and Canada, as well as by other regulated industries. The validation also provides assurance that a module meets a certain level of the cryptographic and physical security and that the cryptographic algorithms provided by the module are standards compliant and implemented correctly.
Confirmation of GoldKey Security Kryptors completing the FIPS 140-2 certification testing can be found on the NIST website (link below). This information is updated on a weekly basis by NIST.
