Singing Sands Inn Launches July 2013 Facebook Contest for Pet Owners

Maya Beach, Belize, June 28, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Singing Sands Inn in Maya Beach, just north of Placencia, Belize, has just recently launched its third Facebook contest, this one designed for pet owners. One lucky pet owner and a companion will enjoy:

To enter, participants are required to submit their favorite photo of themselves and their pets using the ‘Win!’ tab on the Singing Sands Facebook Page. The photo may be uploaded or submitted from their Facebook photo albums. The entry must also contain a short caption that explains why their photo deserves to win. After submission, participants are encouraged to share their photo on Facebook with as many of their friends as possible in order to accumulate votes that are cast by using the button next to each entry on the contest page. The contest ends on July 31, 2013, after which the entry that has been voted for the most wins.

Inspired by the success of their first and second contests, which received great exposure on Facebook and interaction from thousands of Facebook fans, Singing Sands hopes to continue to do its part to increase Belize’s popularity as a tourist destination and reward its fans on Facebook by offering attractive giveaways. This time around, the resort has decided to also center their Facebook contest around a worthy cause – by entering the competition, participants pledge to make a small donation of supplies to the Placencia Humane Society, should their entry win in the competition. Singing Sands sees this contest as a perfectly relevant opportunity to assist the local Humane Society, as one of the criteria for entry is the submission of photos featuring pets. The resort also hopes to continue increasing the exposure of Maya Beach, a rapidly growing tourist destination in the southern part of the country that it sees someday rivaling the best visitor hotspots in Belize, including San Ignacio, San Pedro and Placencia.

About the Placencia Humane Society – like other humane societies throughout the world, the Placencia Humane Society is a charitable organization dedicated to the welfare of household pets. They offer much-needed veterinary clinics and related services, as well as adoption programs for stray, abandoned, or injured dogs and cats. They coordinate yearly visits of veterinary teams from abroad to offer high-quality, voluntary services to pets in Placencia. They also organize various projects to help increase an awareness of animal rights to the public, educate pet owners, eradicate animal disease, and rescue and nurse abandoned pets back to health. They rely mostly on material donations and voluntary assistance from the public and the international animal-care community.
