Indiana Man Wins Ride for Kids, Cycle World Drawing Bike

Asheville, NC, June 29, 2013 --(PR.com)-- So what makes someone buy a ticket on a chance to win a new motorcycle?
For John Bretz of Rockford, Ind., it was a “real pretty” photo in Cycle World magazine. Earlier this year the longtime subscriber saw a picture of a Honda CBR1000RR customized by Gregg DesJardins and couldn’t resist. He made a $20 online donation to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation for five drawing tickets.
One of those tickets was the winner, and last week the bike was delivered to Bretz at Big 4 Cycle in Newburgh, Ind. Accustomed to his two “slow and comfortable” Harleys, Bretz said he’s looking forward to trying out the sport bike donated by Ride for Kids presenting sponsor American Honda.
The custom bike, painted by Blue Cat (Roberto Serangeli), also came with a matching Bell helmet. Custom parts and accessories were donated by Performance Machine, Cycles 128, Bell Helmets, Leo Vince, Saddlemen, CRG and Dunlop.
Thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts saw the bike on the International Motorcycle Shows circuit and in the Honda tent at Daytona. This year’s drawing raised $67,845 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Since 2001, the drawing has raised more than $725,000 to help eliminate the challenges of childhood brain tumors.
