After 18 Years of Broadcasting, MKG Financial Hour Radio Show Comes to an End

Portland, OR, July 23, 2013 --(PR.com)-- For more than 18 years, Mark Gaskill, President, CEO and CIO at MKG Financial Group, Inc., provided the Portland community with financial and economic insight on his weekly radio show, MKG Financial Hour. Airing on 1410 AM KBNP Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m., June 25, 2013 was the final show.

“We have thoroughly enjoyed interviewing the top CEOs and business leaders locally, regionally and across the US over the past 18 years. Business leaders’ opinions come from being on the firing line, particularly any time the industry or their stock experiences a dramatic shift,” Gaskill explained.

Many renowned authors have appeared on the MKG Financial Hour over the years such as, Andrew Sorkin, writer for the New York Times and author of the book, “Too Big to Fail,” Chris Anderson, former Editor-in-Chief at Wired magazine, and Anne Picker, chief economist for Econoday. Local thought leaders such as Diane Lund, executive editor at The Lund Report, and Brad Gevurtz, head of investment banking at D.A. Davidson & CO., have been long-time guests. Additionally, several politicians have appeared on the show including Congressman Earl Blumenauer and former representative Ron Paul.

Gaskill has been in the securities business since 1977 working for both regional and large Wall Street firms. He founded MKG Financial Group in 2000, providing investment services in Portland Oregon. With his co-host Julie Bryan, the show has been an extension of the research the firm performs. “The show gave us the opportunity to explain out loud what we saw in the market and the economy, and how events and challenges might play out. When the markets experience setbacks for investors, like we have seen periodically in the last 12 years, it was important to be able to tell people what was really happening and what to watch for. I’m going to miss running into people who come up to me and say, ‘I’ve been listening to your program for years.’ However, moving forward, we’ve decided our firm’s research will exclusively be available to MKG clients,” Gaskill explained.
