For the first time in its history, Master Illusionist Michael Grandinetti will bring live magic to America's Independence Day Parade in Washington, DC, July 4. During the parade, Michael will levitate a girl high above one of the floats as it moves down Constitution Avenue, giving the spectators a 360 degree view of the magic as it happens.

Los Angeles, CA, July 01, 2013 --(PR.com)-- America's birthday will be celebrated with a unique, magical touch this year when Master Illusionist Michael Grandinetti brings live grand illusion to "America's Independence Day Parade" in Washington, DC, one of the country's biggest celebrations.

The annual Fourth of July event takes place on Constitution Avenue, progressing from 7th to 17th Street, as a live audience of hundreds of thousands of spectators line the area. Creating a truly unforgettable experience, the parade consists of invited marching bands, floats, military and specialty units, giant balloons, equestrian and drill teams, national dignitaries and celebrity participants. The parade seeks to draw the attention of Americans to the real meaning of the holiday, the birth of our country.

Adding his special brand of magic to the event, Michael plans to levitate a girl high above a float as it moves down Constitution Avenue, while the audience watches with a 360 degree view. Michael's appearance marks the first time an illusionist has been invited to perform in the parade.

The parade begins at 11:45am and is the start of an entire day of events, concluding with "A Capitol Fourth," a live concert on the Capitol grounds, and a spectacular fireworks display over the Washington Monument.

"I'm thrilled and honored to be bringing our magic to the Independence Day Parade," Michael said. "More than anywhere else in the world, our country gives everyone the opportunity to achieve their goals and dreams, even those that might seem impossible. I hope our performance helps to convey that message."

Over the past 20 years, Michael has strived to take his magic in exciting and daring directions, from performances on NBC's "The World's Most Dangerous Magic," to an NFL Halftime show at Bank of America Stadium with an audience of 70,000 people surrounding the magic, to performances with Oscar-winning composer Marvin Hamlisch and symphony orchestras, to custom branded effects for Fortune 500 companies. Michael's touring show, featuring original grand illusions, travels throughout the country, with recent performances at the A.J. Palumbo Center in Pittsburgh, PA, Riverside Casino in Riverside, IA, and John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA. Coming up next for Michael is an outdoor concert series performance at Marlins Park Stadium in Miami on July 27 and a national television special appearance this fall.
