Attorney Evan Guthrie Given Second Consecutive Star of The Quarter Award

Charleston, SC, July 02, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Attorney Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina was named Star of The Quarter award in March of 2013 for the second time. This was the second consecutive quarter that Mr. Guthrie received the award. Attorney Guthrie was recognized in consideration for the award for his contribution in setting up and participation in multiple wills clinic for Habitat for Humanity homeowners throughout the state of South Carolina. For the period of Star of the Quarter consideration, attorney Guthrie helped organize estate planning clinics in Myrtle Beach, SC for Horry Habitat and Summerville, SC for Dorchester Habitat. The respective clinics provide a free simple last will and testament, a declaration of desire of natural death also known as a living will, and a healthcare power of attorney to Habitat For Humanity homeowners. Homeowners that have residences in the Habitat program are in danger of losing their home in future generations if they do not have a will or other estate planning document. Having a will helps prevent potential problems in the South Carolina probate court system and all of the associated difficulties if a person dies without a valid will in place. The goal of Habitat is to encourage home ownership and the wills clinic helps maintain that ownership by helping keep a home in the family so it is not lost.

Attorney Guthrie has participated in many other Habitat wills clinics since receiving the Star of the Quarter award including East Cooper Habitat in Mt Pleasant, SC, Sea Island Habitat in Johns Island, SC, and Columbia Habitat in Columbia, SC. Mr. Guthrie participates in many public service events throughout the year and looks forward to taking part in many events throughout the year.
