Texas Trust Youth Advisory Council Accepting Applicants for Fall 2013 Term

Mansfield, TX, July 04, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Texas Trust Youth Advisory Council is accepting nominations for high school students to serve during the Fall 2013 term. Applications will be accepted through July 21.

High school students interested in financial education and leadership development are invited to apply. The Youth Advisory Council is open to all Texas Trust members in high school, along with students attending high schools in DeSoto, Grand Prairie, Mansfield, Cedar Hill, Arlington, and Kennedale. Private, charter and homeschool students living within these school districts are also eligible to join the Council.

Up to 20 students will be selected to serve on the Council. The Fall 2013 Youth Advisory Council will serve from August through December 2013. Council meetings will be held in Mansfield at the Texas Trust branch on County Club Dr.

The Youth Advisory Council teaches high school students basic financial skills, as well as provides leadership development training. The Council meets bi-monthly and learns about financial education, service leadership, marketing, and career opportunities in the financial field.

The Council also participates in a service project and volunteers at community events sponsored by Texas Trust. The Spring 2013 Council participated in Texas Trust's Together We Feed More Campaign, which helped generate nearly 100,000 meals for the North Texas Food Bank.

High school students interested in joining the Council should apply by July 21. Membership is limited to 20 students. Council members receive a stipend for their service upon completing all of the monthly requirements.
