Title Insurance CEO of Independence Title, Inc. Offers Tips to Future Real Estate Professionals
Always interested in helping those in pursuit of a booming career Kevin Tacher, Founder and CEO of Independence Title, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida offers hints to those looking for information on what it takes to become a real estate agent.
Fort Lauderdale, FL, July 05, 2013 --(PR.com)-- “Licensing requirements are very steep in this field so, interested entrepreneurs need to be sure they’re dedicated to this very competitive yet promising career,” says Tacher.
Tacher discussed education at length recently with audiences so open to his expertise. He outlined that after obtaining a high school diploma those interested in a Florida real estate career will begin their coursework with sixty-three hours of sales associate pre-licensing classes. The coursework is then followed by two exams - a final and a state real estate sales associate license exam. “Coursework doesn't end there,” says Tacher. “Next on the list for potential agents is a forty-five hour post-licensing course to be completed within the agent’s first license renewal cycle. So, there’s a bit of a reprieve but not too long. Experts agree that those getting their education should buckle down and get the coursework done while it remains fresh in their mind.”
The upside of completing this arm of education for “the Realtor on the fast track” is that once finished and licensed for twenty-four months, the agent can take the state’s seventy-two hour broker pre-licensing course. Much like the initial testing phase, the broker’s licensing course includes a final exam and a state real estate broker license exam.
Tacher adds, “The broker’s license is not for the faint-hearted as there’s extensive post-license coursework and more testing however the advantages of being a broker over being a real estate are substantial. As well they should be.”
Tacher offers a little known fact for practicing lawyers. If a lawyer is approved to practice law in the state of Florida they are exempt from the pre-license education requirement. Lawyers may take the sales associate’s exam by merely affixing a copy of their current Florida Bar card to the examination application. “It’s really quite a loophole when you think of the advantages lawyers have in the field of real estate,” said Tacher. “Any active member who is otherwise qualified under the real estate license law and is in good standing with the Florida Bar is exempt from the continuing education requirements. Easily enough, attorneys will then complete the forty-five hour post-licensing course within the first license renewal period.”
