Bridgeport, CT, July 23, 2013 --(PR.com)-- ComiCONN Returns to Connecticut for its Fantastic 4th Convention.

Look up in the sky…okay, watch the road and drive towards Trumbull, Connecticut for the “Fantastic 4th” annual ComiCONN! Fans who amaze at the exploits of Spider-Man, Superman, Batman or Iron Man in the comic pages or on the big screen can come and celebrate their geekdom at ComiCONN. Connecticut’s coolest celebration of Comics, Collectibles and Cosplay will be on Saturday, August 24th at the Marriott Hotel on 180 Hawley Lane.

“With the 75th anniversary of Superman and his return to the big screen, plus the further adventures of Marvel’s Iron Man and Wolverine, and a new Star Trek film – fans cannot get enough and want more,” said Mitch Hallock, co-founder of ComiCONN, who also organizes the yearly event. “This show was created to give comic fans a chance to meet, get sketches and talk to the folks who created the heroes they 'marvel' at,” said Hallock. “ComiCONN is a great time for fans without traveling for hours and spending a huge amount of money just to get pushed around at the big city shows.” Last year’s show drew a long line of thousands of eager fans, so more exhibit areas and longer hours have been added. “There are people and things to see all day from 10:00am to 8:00pm, so fans do not have to rush in the morning,” Hallock added.

Scheduled to appear in this year’s all-star line-up are; Artists; Mark Bagley, Ron Garney, Jerry Ordway, Scott Hanna, Chris Giarrusso, Billy Tucci, Joe Staton, Matthew Dow Smith. Writers: Tom DeFalco, J.M. DeMatties, Ron Marz, New York Times author – Michael Jan Friedman, Paul Kupperberg. Co-Creator of Ren & Stimpy - Bob Camp, The voice of Thundercats Lion-O and many other characters – Larry Kenney, from TV’s “Comic Book Men” Mike Zapcic, Ming Chen and Rob Bruce and many more.

ComiCONN has over 180 tables of comics, original artwork, toys and collectibles. Rub elbows or tentacles with the most creative costume players or “cosplayers” this side of the galaxy - from Jedi Knights and Stormtroopers to Super-heroes and Robots you do not want to miss a chance to get a photo with your favorite heroes or villains! Holy Hot-Rods – there will be the 1966 Batmobile, Batcycle and Batpod. Great models from the Connecticut based Lego builders! Plus Star Wars droids R2-D2 and R5-D4 will be there and other surprises. Radio station WPLR will be on hand with music and PLR’s Wigmaster will be proving his prowess in some feats of strength!

ComiCONN’s Mitch Hallock added; “Comic books, sci-fi, movies and gaming are our modern mythology – and ComiCONN is a celebration of those heroes!”
