The Northern California Underwater Photography Society (NCUPS) Proudly Announces the 2013 Monterey Shootout
The Monterey Shootout will be held August 9-11, 2013. For 32 years running, this is one of the most exceptional underwater photo contests in the United States.
Alameda, CA, July 11, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Monterey Shootout will be held August 9-11, 2013. On this weekend, Scuba divers from all over the United States will converge on Monterey, California, to sharpen their underwater photography skills and compete for over $25,000.00 in prizes. For 32 years running, this is one of the most exceptional underwater photo contests in the United States.
During this three-day event, participants are offered seminar courses that are sure to teach them new underwater photo and video techniques. Diving and image taking is open for the first 32-hours of the competition. All amateur underwater photographers and videographers are welcome. Digital photos and videos must be taken from dives during the 32-hour competition period along the Monterey coastline.
Come see “Swimming with Giants” on Saturday evening, August 10, 2013, at this year's Monterey Underwater Film Festival, held at the Golden State Theatre. “Swimming with Giants” showcases some of the recent underwater cinematography work and behind-the-scenes stories from internationally renowned filmmakers Howard & Michele Hall, Bob Talbot and Shawn Heinrichs. The Film Festival is included with full weekend registration. Film Festival only tickets are available to the public for $10.00. This will be a very special evening that you won't want to miss.
A panel of judges comprised of world-renowned professional underwater photographers and filmmakers will select the winners on Sunday, August 11, 2013. The winners will be announced and prizes awarded at the Monterey Shootout Awards Ceremony held at the Monterey Institute of International Studies on Sunday, August 11, 2013. The Monterey Shootout Awards Ceremony is a Free event, open to the public.
