Newly Founded Brooklyn Apache Press Releases First Novel

Los Angeles, CA, July 15, 2013 --(PR.com)-- In the 2013 Writers Guild of America TV Diversity Report, they found that staffing of writers on TV series remains "widely disproportionate" to the demographics of the U.S. population. This report highlights three traditionally underemployed groups: women, minorities and older writers. According to the Directors Guild of America's most recent Diversity Report, 73% of all TV directors are Caucasian. "In my opinion, diversity in Studio films isn't much better when you look at the ethnic complexion of the American populace," added Carlton. "My fantastic fiction novels, which will be platforms to possible movies, will take place in urban ghettos, rural backwoods, alternative lifestyle communities, different cultures. The heroes will be ethnic, old, gay."

Brooklyn Apache's first novel, inspired by true events, is "The Black Album: A Hollywood Horror Story," a thriller about the making of an independent film about an urban legend that is becoming an urban legend. The movie delves into a rumored rock record spiked with hidden backwards Satanic lyrics and teen devil cults in the Arrowhead mountains of California. "After bizarre happenstances during the making of the movie, the filmmaker and his starlet abandoned the project, believing it to be cursed. 'The Black Album' is the scariest movie you'll never see," Carlton said.

Carlton's past accomplishments include an HBO World Premiere movie and traveling to war-torn Belfast to interview members of the Irish Republican Army for a feature film project.
