New HMC HealthWorks RxInnovations Programs Respond to the Need to Control Total Healthcare Expense Growth

Jupiter, FL, July 17, 2013 --(PR.com)-- HMC HealthWorks (HMC) announces RxInnovations (RxI), a new suite of programs, which reduce prescription drug expense and total healthcare expense growth by changing healthcare consumer behaviors.

The centerpiece of RxI is RxTE, a reference-based therapeutic equivalent prescription drug program, which immediately significantly reduces prescription drug expense by encouraging use of lower cost, therapeutically equivalent prescription drugs. Other RxI programs substantially enhance RxTE impact including: Renegotiation of Pharmacy Benefits Manager ("PBM") terms; PBM Audits; Rx Formulary Optimization Management; and Specialty Pharmacy Management.

According to Dr. Janis S. DiMonaco, President and CEO of HMC "RxI programs both immediately reduce prescription drug expense significantly and reduce longer-term total healthcare trend substantially net of all program and program-related costs. The program also improves an individual's health status and management of chronic medical conditions."

HMC also offers integrated pharmacy and Condition/Disease Management and Wellness programs, which provide significant longer-term total healthcare expense control through health management behavior change to close medical gaps in care and lifestyle improvement. A critical aspect of these programs is reduction and avoidance of negative medical events by engaging healthcare consumers in improving prescription drug adherence, and related physician consultation, diagnostic testing and biometric screening.
