NACLA Launches Indiegogo Crowdfunding Campaign to Support Independent Journalism on the Americas
New York, NY, July 17, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The North American Congress on Latin America (NACLA), publisher of the most widely-read English-language magazine on Latin America, NACLA Report on the Americas, has launched NACLA 2.0, an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. NACLA 2.0 is a campaign that will bring NACLA’s independent journalism to new digital platforms, making its reliable coverage of the region more accessible.
For 45 years, NACLA has uncovered the real stories from the Americas, reporting on social, political, and human rights issues that are often overlooked or covered up by the mainstream media. Noam Chomsky has said of the organization, “The outstanding work of NACLA over many years has opened new ways of understanding the realities of the region and responding to the needs and concerns of its population. A resource of enormous value.”
This year, NACLA is making its unique coverage of Latin America and the Caribbean more accessible by bringing its award-winning quarterly magazine to tablets and by upgrading and redesigning its website (nacla.org), to bring readers more daily content, a section of the site for educators, and provide easier access to the 46 years of the NACLA archive.
NACLA’s Indiegogo campaign is now live and will end on Saturday, August 10th. Indiegogo is a crowdsourcing platform that enables people to easily contribute to causes and campaigns they believe in. You can join the NACLA 2.0 campaign by donating anything from $1 to $3,000—plus you’ll get some great perks for contributing!
Join the campaign today and help spread the word! Plus, stay up to date on the campaign and news from Latin America by following NACLA on Facebook and Twitter.
